The study conducted together with agronomic partners involved the assessment and introduction in several (open field and greenhouse) farms of saline farming, together with groundwater exploration and better water management practices. For SME and large farmers, various interventions were designed for different levels of crop production and quality improvements (including several more saline resistant crop varieties), water efficiency improvements (including drainage and water harvesting), and soil salinity and fertility improvements. The project furthermore involved institutional capacity building for saline agriculture and water management.
